Just back from a fun gig with Marco Sollazo. Check him out next gig 10th May at the Jazz Bar. He’s an Italian Oud player with an interest in improvising and writing combining with other instrumentation. (I had no idea the Oud can be tracked back to before 3100 BC …music is old!).

I’ve also been recording with the Hammond organ trio for a Grant Green Funk project which you can see later this year. We have some gigs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival .

I’m really excited to also start writing music to a silent movie for guitar/ effects..possibly adding other instrumentation at a later date. It’s challenging to develop an approach to writing this way and making me think completely different about composition and forcing me to open my imagination a bit more.
